Noah's Day

Greetings in the Strong Name of Jesus!
Noah’s Day
Luke 17:26-27 - “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.” NIV
I have always wondered just how bad was it in the days of Noah? It seems it was bad enough that God become so disappointed in His creation He thought it necessary to start over. That has got to be pretty bad.
But what is bad? We must be very careful we do not make an observation of “bad” by our standards. We must look at God’s standards and apply them to our world. When we apply God’s standards it would seem we are a very sick society...but are we as sick as the days of Noah? There is one element worth thinking on. The element of God’s unconditional love.
The unconditional love of God is an awesome, fearful and amazing love. It is a love bringing both discipline and grace. A love bringing both punishment and reward. And, it would seem, a love that holds the hand of wrath to a point way beyond my tolerance and probably yours. Our wrath would have probably poured out some several hundred years ago. But, God is a patient God not wanting any to perish but all to come to a saving faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
So how bad will it get to be as in the days of Noah? Evidently worse than it is now. Based on my study, it seems the element that existed in Noah’s day was a complete abandonment and perhaps a complete disdain for Almighty God and His ability to bring punishment. In other words, outright fist shaking toward the heavens literally daring God to do something about their evil life style. Perhaps it was so bad there was not even a hint of guilt for the lifestyle being lived out. As bad as it may seem today, there are still millions who love the Lord and live faithfully according to His principles. When that number begins to dwindle to thousands or hundreds, can we then look to the heavens for the return of Christ? I don’t know. But I do know this, I plan to occupy my space on this earth with a joyful heart and a passionate desire to see the Son of God lifted high so that others may see God and be drawn to Him.
You are loved and prayed for,
Pastor Roger
